Like most people, you probably have data across many files and tools. You can centralize your information in one place by moving it all into Tape.

Tape lets you directly import Excel (.xlsx) and CSV (.csv) files.

Currently, Tape offers two options for importing data:

1. Creating a new app via import

Tape makes it easy to get started with data. Creating a new app with fields and field values in one simple step by importing an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file. Include a header row containing column names to ensure that the field names are automatically assigned.

  • Tap the + button next to the last app in the workspace

  • Click Import Excel/ CSV

  • Select an Excel or CSV file from your computer

  • The data will be uploaded

  • It will open up the import preview window - where you can see a preview of what your information will look like. Here you can adjust field mappings or other settings.

  • Once the setup is looking the way you'd like it, you can click import

  • The new app is created

💡 Tip: It only takes a few seconds to upload the data, and each time you refresh the page or come back to the app, more of the records will have been created or updated.
