With notifications, you're aware of work that needs your attention, as well as changes to records you care about. As you collaborate with more users in your workspace, these features become more and more useful.

All updates across your organization

The πŸ”” icon at the top of your right sidebar shows several notifications for you.

There are six ways notifications are pushed to you:

  • Someone @-mentioned you via a comment in a record

  • You've been added to a Member field in a record

  • You're added as an assignee to a Checklist item in a record

  • There is a change in a record that you follow

  • There is a new record created in an app you activated Follow app - Learn more about

  • Workspace access has been granted to you

πŸ’‘ You will not receive notifications when you make changes by yourself.

Navigate to your notifications

You'll see a blue badge at the πŸ”” icon displaying the number of notifications waiting for you. To open your notifications, click on the bell icon. The menu is broken up into two sections:

  • All: All notifications across your organization

  • You : A list of notifications, if:

  • Someone @-mentioned you in a comment

  • You've been added to a Member field

  • You're added as an assignee to a Checklist item

Act on notifications

By clicking any notification, you will navigate directly to the record where the notification was sent. An invitation for a workspace is just for your information and the notification is not clickable.

Organize your notifications

You won't get overwhelmed by too much work if you organize your notifications, and you will be able to keep up with work that needs your attention.

To filter:

  • Click on the round filter icon on the top right to filter the notification by "Unread"

  • Click on the now blue-filled filter icon again to see read and unread notifications again

To mark all notifications as read:

  • Open the notification menu by clicking the dropdown next to Notifications on the top

  • Click on Mark all as read

To mark as unread:

  • Hover to a notification that you already opened

  • Click on the small dot on the top right of the notification to Mark as unread

Follow records

You automatically follow records, if

  • You create, edit or comment on a record

  • You've been added to a Member field in a record

  • You're added as an assignee to a Checklist item in a record

  • Someone @-mentioned you via a comment in a record

Otherwise, you can follow records manually by clicking the Follow button at the top right of the record.

To stop receiving notifications about a specific record hover over the Following button and click the red Unfollow button.

Check if you follow or don't follow records:

  • Seeing the Following button on the top right means you are following the record - you'll be notified whenever there is an update or comment

  • Seeing the Follow button on the top right means you don't follow the record - you don't get a notification for this record

πŸ’‘ At every single record in Tape, you will see the record activity stream on the right side. It keeps a running list of updates and comments made on the record. Learn more about Comments, threads & mentions in records

Desktop and email notifications

You'll get email updates for notifications and direct messages if you don't look at Tape and you can get desktop notifications when you’re not on Tape. Learn more about account settings
