Let your teammates know what you’re up to and when you’ll be slow to respond. Whenever you step away from Tape - to grab lunch, take a week off or just focus on a task for a few productive hours - you can use a custom status in Tape to manage your coworker's expectations. Your Tape status is also an easy way to share what you’re working on.

Set your status

As soon as you set your status in Tape, all your organization members can see your status on your profile page and at home in "Your team":

  • Hover over to the top right of your screen and click on your profile image

  • Click on Set a status

  • Enter a status and select an emoji, or choose a suggested status option like 📆 In a meeting 🚃 Commuting 🏡 Working remotely 🤒 Out sick ⛱️ Vacationing

  • Tap on Clear after to choose when your status will clear

  • Click Save at the top right of the menu to save your changes

💡 As a default, you will see a speech balloon if you do not select a status emoji and start writing your status.

Edit or clear your status

  • Hover over to the top right of your screen and click on your profile image

  • Click on your current status to edit, or click X to clear the status

Manage your availability

Members of your organization can see whether you are active, away, or don't want to be disturbed by the dot next to your name.

Set yourself to away

  • Hover over to the top right of your screen and click on your profile image

  • Click Set yourself to away or Set yourself to active

Pause notifications with "Do Not Disturb"

If you need time to focus or time away from work, you can pause your notifications with "Do Not Disturb". Pause notifications as needed to help you concentrate. All notifications and @mentions will be paused. You can see all your notifications that arrived while you were on "Do not disturb" as soon as this time has expired or is ended by you. Members will see a "Do Not Disturb icon" next to your name on your profile:

  • Hover over to the top right of your screen and click on your profile image

  • Click Do not disturb

  • Select a time range

  • Click Save at the top right of the menu to save your changes
